Have you noticed that Google has updated their favicon recently? I did not personally like it much at the beginning because I felt it was not very strong. It simply did not shout Google enough.

I’m slowly starting to like it now. It’s simple, smooth but sharp enough and it has a rather clever transparent background gradient.
